Up, Up and Away in Emmer Green

On Sat 14th June, Reading Phoenix Choir was invited to sing with the choir of Emmer Green Primary School for their Summer Term concert "Up, Up and Away". Each choir sang some songs and then both choirs sang together at the end of the concert.
The members of Reading Phoenix were very impressed with the enthusiasm of the young singers, and particularly enjoyed all of the movements that they had choreographed to fit with their songs. It is always a joy to see young people learning about the joy of making music and to give them the opportunity to see Adults singing so that they know that singing is not just for children!
Here are some of the comments made by the members of the school choir afterwards:
"This year's concert was called Up, up and away and I really enjoyed learning the songs, especially Dance the Night."
"The summer concert was a brilliant chance to show how much we love to sing. I loved my solo and all of the songs we sang."
"The Up, up and away concert was amazing. Our three songs together sounded brilliant."
"I think singing with the Reading Phoenix Choir is a lifetime experience to me. Working with them makes me feel happy. My favourite song was Dance the Night from Barbie."
"Up, up and away was an amazing opportunity to sing lots of fun songs. I loved singing with the Reading Phoenix Choir and I loved their song Chile con Carne."
"Up, up and away was a great experience and it was super fun to learn and sing the songs. It was a great chance to express yourself through music. There were also some great opportunities for solos and doing actions. I loved it!"
