A concert given by Reading Phoenix Choir on St Luke’s day during which the choir will sing a variety of unaccompanied choral music from C16th to the present day
The profits from this concert will be donated to Ivy’s Gifts (https://ivysgifts.co.uk/), a charity raising money in memory of Ivy, who was four months old when she died from Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. The money raised will be put towards providing the best medical equipment, research and facilities for patients and staff across the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The music will embrace music both sacred and secular as well as ancient and modern. The music is likely to include works by: William Byrd, Charles Villiers Stanford, Anton Bruckner, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Gustav Holst, John Rutter, Bob Chilcott, Ola Gjeilo and Ben Parry.
£15 including a glass of wine or soft drink, Accompanied U16s may come free-of-charge.
